Aching breath

Dawn here reminds me of dusk over there

When the cool wind flows and caresses my hair

Spring here reminds me of my land’s autumn

When the raindrops touch my heart to its bottom

Sometimes in my dream- I feel I could fly

Just to the skies and high very high

Somewhere deep in the crevices of this heart

An ache is buried for those apart

Sometimes at night when it’s difficult to sleep

Wish there were starry skies and a window to peep

I walk these lanes-some acquainted, some new

 Erasing some, making memories few

I sleep and I try to prolong my dream

Of my home so far, yet so near it seem

The mind and the heart play this tug of war

On this unending path to destination afar

The plant has been planted in a foreign land

Not his weather, not his sand

 Sometimes time heals your pain

Sometimes you just have to wait for the rain

Dec 2012' A 23 year old woman was gang raped in India. She eventually died of injuries caused by the rape. (A rusted iron rod was penetrated multiple times in her body as part of sexual violence)

"Rape a women! Rape her mind, body and soul.
Leave her to die
Leave her family to cry
Instant gratification you must have had
Our generation will spend years being sad
Candles will be burnt
Marches will be held
Nothing would ever come close-
To the Poison you spread in a lethal dose
I don't know how to address you
For me-
You don't have no name,
You have no face,
You for sure have no soul!
You anger me!
You upset me!
No, you do not scare me!
Nor are you more powerful than the one you raped
It took so many of you some effort to end one life
You all died effortlessly the moment you did that
This is to all those, who think women can be raped
Let me lend you some Indian woman's saree for your dead souls to be draped.
